About the project

This project involved visual direction, design, and motion graphics for Gemini Paddock 2.0, an immersive fan experience created by McLaren Racing and Google Gemini during the British Grand Prix weekend. The primary objective was to connect McLaren’s racing heritage with AI-powered creativity across one cohesive physical environment. The work encompassed the complete visual execution of three core activations: the Hall of Helmets cinematic gallery, the interactive Head of Design projection mapping, and the Living Livery AI-generated LED installations, seamlessly blending physical architecture with dynamic digital storytelling.

My role was end-to-end: from visual direction to final delivery.

Process & Decisions

The production process required a unified visual system across multiple interactive mediums, balancing a premium dark carbon aesthetic with high-contrast McLaren papaya orange and Gemini blue gradients. For the projection-mapped helmet, custom UI states and fluid motion triggers were designed to transform fan inputs into instantaneous live reveals. Simultaneously, the LED wall-and-floor experience was technically optimized using a precise 75/25 visual content split, where over 700 curated AI sequences were stitched together into seamless 24-second generative loops. Every visual asset was meticulously crafted to ensure a flawless, large-scale immersive fan journey.
